Brother Richard Bautista was born in La Paz, Bolivia on September 27, 1960. After enrolling in the Catholic University of Bolivia, a military coup cut his first year short. He then made the decision to come to the United States and studied English at both Georgetown University the University of DC.
Brother Bautista has worked at the Washington Times, as a Systems Analyst at Northern Virginia Community College and a Sports Journalist for both the international media and local Hispanic newspapers.
Worshipful Brother Bautista first became a Mason in 1995, receiving his degrees in Alianza Fraternal American No. 92, then later joining Albert Pike Lodge No. 33, where he served as Master in 2002. He was an Assistant Grand Chaplain in 2003-2004, and served as Grand Marshal in 2005-2006. He is a current member of the 2008 World Conference of Grand Lodges Planning Committee, and Chairman of Latin American Outreach for the Grand Lodge. Presently he is Degree Captain of the First Degree at Albert Pike Lodge No. 33, and also serves as Junior Warden of Pythagoras Lodge of Research.
Brother Bautista is married to the lovely Ivon and they have two sons, Erick who is an Entered Apprentice at Albert Pike No. 33 and Jurgen, who is only 11 years old.
